Step 4 Kerb Appeal
Updated: Dec 22, 2018
First impressions count!- Staging your home correctly is very important. The photos in your advertisement and how your property looks externally will determine how many buyers you’ll get through the door. Before your agent comes to take all their pictures, it’s a good idea to get your property looking its best. Maximising interest from buyers online will give you the best chance of a quick sale at a good price.
Tidy up the outside of your home, regularly mow the lawn, trim hedges and try to remove any weeds from pathways. Consider giving the front door and the window frames a lick of paint if they are looking tired, put some pots or hanging baskets outside your property if possible. Make them want to come in.
Try and get those minor repairs done: Like replacing broken fixtures, addressing any damp or leaks and refreshing the paintwork to make the property look brighter and cleaner. Consider replacing bath and shower sealants if mould has accumulated. In the kitchen clean and polish all surfaces, fittings, handles, cupboard fronts and appliances. Clean inside the oven and any integrated appliances that are included in the sale.
You need to de-clutter. Clutter makes a room feel smaller and makes it harder for a buyer to imagine living in your home. If your home is very cluttered it might be an idea putting items into storage that are not needed on a regular basis.
You want people to WANT to live
in your old property –
so SELL IT to them !
